THERMACARE® HEATWRAPS: APPLICATION AND FUNCTIONALITY

ThermaCare® HeatWraps are suitable for the relief of muscular tension and back and neck pain and muscular tension and pain in the arms, legs and shoulders related to overloading, osteoarthritis, subsiding strains and for menstrual pain. Depending on the product, they can be used for localised pain as well as for larger painful areas.

ThermaCare® HeatWraps are easy to apply for long-lasting deep heat and lasting effect. Because they attach directly to the body, they can be worn comfortably and discreetly at work, at home or while on the go.

ThermaCare® HeatWraps do not contain any medicinal substances, but provide a therapeutic deep heat. They relieve pain without drugs when used as directed.

Remove the ThermaCare® HeatWrap from the airtight packaging shortly before use and attach it directly to the painful area with the darker side, on which the heat cells are more visible, either via the adhesive dots or the hook-and-loop fastener, depending on the product. If you are prone to skin irritation or are very sensitive to heat, you can also wear a light piece of clothing between the wrap and your skin.

Do not wear ThermaCare® HeatWraps on top of medicated plasters or other externally applied medicines (e.g. pain creams, hydrocortisone ointments or antibiotic ointments). Also avoid using lotions, moisturisers and body oils before applying ThermaCare® HeatWraps so that the adhesive dots adhere better to the skin and no skin irritation is caused.

If you have sensitive skin, check it several times during use. If you notice irritation or a burn, remove the heat wrap immediately. Do not use on the face/head, breast, fingers, groin, feet or toes. Do not use on the back or inside of the arm or underarm

Due to the technology used, each HeatWrap can only be used once. ThermaCare® works through oxidation: After opening the airtight packaging, the ingredients react with the oxygen from the air and thus heat up by themselves. Once oxidation is complete after 8 hours (depending on the product), the product cannot be reactivated and should be disposed of properly in household waste.

Please do not heat ThermaCare® products in the microwave or in the oven under any circumstances, as the heat wrap could catch fire!

How does ThermaCare® work? ThermaCare® HeatWraps consist of a comfortable heatwraps in which patented heat cells are embedded. These heat cells contain a mixture of iron granulate, activated carbon, salt and water. After opening the airtight packaging, an oxidation process is set in motion through contact with oxygen in the air: The heat cells heat themselves. Thanks to this function, they reach a temperature of approx. 40 °C within 30 minutes, which is maintained constantly over a period of 8 hours (depending on the product).

Heat instead of active substance

ThermaCare® does not contain any medicinal substances, but provides therapeutic deep heat. This heat penetrates 2 - 3 cm deep through the skin into the muscle tissue and improves blood circulation and nutrient supply in the muscle. The result: The muscle relaxes, the pain dissipates. The regeneration of the damaged tissue is supported. At the same time, the heat receptors in the body are stimulated. This means that fewer pain stimuli are passed on and thus the sensation of pain is reduced.

Long-lasting deep effect confirmed in studies

Numerous studies have shown that a local application of heat at low temperature and for several hours, as provided by ThermaCare®, increases blood circulation even in deeper tissue layers.
